Micromax Canvas 4 Review: Features, Price and Specification – Rediff Technology

Today we look at the Micromax Canvas 4, the sequel to the Micromax Canvas HD.


The Canvas 4 comes with better performance, software upgrades and the 13MP camera at the rear, costing Rs.17,999 -making it look like a phone one should grab right away, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

The Canvas 4 runs on the MediaTek MT6589 1.2GHz quad-core chipset, housing 1GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage. The phone has a sweet 13MP camera and has the latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean installed.

The phone overall has wide-spread capabilities, but is let down by the MediaTek MT6589, the same processor as the Canvas HD.



The Canvas 4 has a crisp 5-inch IPS display, which looks sleek, maintains contrast ratio and has excellent viewing angles. The screen has a 1280x720 pixel resolution with 294ppi pixel density.

The display has amazing response, great for playing games. Watching movies and browsing the internet is a breeze for the Canvas 4.



Micromax Canvas 4 comes with the latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean along with some of its own apps and apps developed for 4.2 Jelly Bean.

The unlock features are quite amazing. One way to unlock the phone is to blow on the surface of the screen!!!!  And voila your phone is unlocked. The other way is to shake the phone and voila again phone unlocked.

The software runs smoothly on the phone, with very few lags or hiccups while using the phone.



The Canvas 4 comes packed with a 13MP camera at the rear, and a 5MP in front. Not all cheap phones live up to the quality of images stated by their developers, but the Canvas 4 doesn’t fail to impress.

The camera comes with the standard modes and filters. Though some unique features are also present – the vertical panorama and the burst shot which takes 99 images!!!!!!



The Canvas 4 maybe a Canvas HD in disguise, but it does have the edge in terms of hardware, software and camera.
