Apple’s Discarded Names Revealed: Telepod, Mobi, Tripod, and even iPad

Apple considered the names "Telepod," "Mobi," "Tripod," and even "iPad" before eventually introducing the world to its iconic "iPhone," a former employee at the tech giant has revealed.   A former head consultant for Apple's advertising team, Ken Segall, uncovered the information to marketing students at the University of Arizona.  


Coming Soon: Polaroid camera with Built in Instagram Filters

A Polaroid camera that allows that allows users to add Instagram filters is set to hit the market early next year.   The device, made by Italian company Socialmatic, will be able to print out its own photos as well as share digitally via social media.   The camera will come with 3G and Wifi connectivity and 16GB of storage, but detailed specifications and a physical prototype have not been revealed yet, Sky News reports.

The next Apple iPhone is likely to be launched in August or September 2013, an analyst has predicted.   According to This Week In Apple Rumors, Barclays analyst Kirk Yang predicted that the next iphone would land in August or September, along with a cheaper iPhone aimed at emerging markets. New iphone coming out is 2013 are likely to be iPhone 5S and iPhone 6.  


Sony launches 'waterproof, ultra-slim' Xperia Tablet Z

Japanese tech giant Sony has unveiled a 10.1-inch Android tablet, the Xperia Tablet Z.   The tablet, unveiled at Mobile World Congress, is waterproof that you really can take into the bath and then use it with wet fingers.   The Xperia tablet is thin and light, but solid enough to feel that it won't flex in your hands, the Telegraph reports. With 4G and at 6.9mm thin, it weighs just 495g and runs on Google's Android operating system.
