iPhone Losing Battle Against Google Android: Samsung & HTC Leads the Market

A report by an independent technology focused analyst house Catalys, has claimed that Apple's iPhone is losing market space to other smart phone manufacturers.   According to a report by Mashable, the shipment of notebooks, tablets and smartphones reached 308.7 million in the first quarter of 2013 which is 37 percent more than last year's figure for same quarter.   At present, Google's Android is dominating the mobile market by making up for 60 percent of shipments. Apple holds only 19 percent of this market.  

Samsung Eyes Up To 10 Percent Revenue From Enterprise Biz in 2013

Korean handset maker samsung today said it is targeting to garner up to 10 per cent of revenues from enterprise business this year.   "In terms of enterprise business, we are targeting to achieve approximately 5-10 per cent by the end of this year of overall Samsung India revenues," Samsung Director (Enterprise Business) Akash Saxenaa told PTI.   The company will be focussing on education and insurance sectors in order to meet the target.

 New Apple iPhone To Come In Three Sizes

Tech giant Apple's new smartphone, iPhone 5S, will reportedly be launched in three sizes.   Analyst Brian White said that from discussions with officials at an unnamed "tech-supply chain company" during a trip to China he learned that the iPhone 5S will be available in two, or possibly three, screen sizes, Mac Rumours reports.  

Chinese Firm Sues Apple Over Patent Used in Siri

Apple appeared in a Shanghai court today, accused by a Chinese firm of copying software used for the "Siri" personal assistant on its hugely popular. The Californian company's products are big sellers in China, and chief executive Tim Cook said in January he expects it to surpass the US as the firm's largest market, but the relationship is sometimes troubled.

Samsung's Galaxy S4, which was launched last week, has been named as the fastest Smartphone yet. Primate Labs, makers of GeekBench, compared the Galaxy S4 result of Android Authority to other Smartphones.   Following the highly anticipated unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy S4 last week, the tech world is busy figuring out which Smartphone is the best. Really, it's a contest between the upcoming Galaxy S4 and the Apple iPhone 5.

Apple is said to be planning to introduce an iPhone that can be unlocked by the owner's fingerprint.   At the same time other manufacturers are thought to be experimenting with iris scanning and voice recognition, the Telegraph reports.
